Jennifer Lopez’s concert at the Madison Square Garden on Saturday night was cut short due to a major Manhattan power outage.

In an Instagram post, J.Lo apologized to concertgoers and promised to come back to make it up to her fans.

The “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer also thanked the Madison Square Garden venue staff.

“The building handled it really well. They did the smartest thing for everybody’s safety,” she said.

Reports from disappointed fans began on social media shortly after 9pm, as the power outage, originally confined to to the Upper West Side and Midtown.

Together with the thousands of fans being evacuated at the Madison Square Garden, people in subway tunnels and nearly a dozen more Broadway shows were evacuated and shut down for the night.

Electricity was restored at around 10pm and officials have reported that they hope to get full power back on by midnight.

Initial reports state that the blackout was due to a “significant disturbance on the west side of Manhattan at one of our electric transmission stations.”
