Over the weekend, a piece on The New York Timesrevealed why actress Uma Thurman was so angry at producer Harvey Weinstein. Beside his sexual assault on Thurman, it turns out that Weinstein was also responsible for Thurman’s permanent physical damage on the set of Kill Bill. What’s worse, Weinstein and other producers covered up the incident.
Thurman shared the footage of the car crash she endured on the set of Kill Bill. In the post she says that the “circumstances of this event were negligent to the point of criminality.”
She added that she did not believe there was any malicious intent behind the crash, and said that director Quentin Tarantino was “deeply regretful and remains remorseful about this sorry event”. “[He] gave me the footage years later so I could expose it and let it see the light of day. He also did so with full knowledge it could cause him personal harm, and I am proud of him for doing the right thing and for his courage/”
She added that however, “THE COVER UP after the face is UNFORGIVABLE. For this, I hold Lawrence Bender, E. Bennett Walsh, and the notorious Harvey Weinstein solely responsible.”
