stripped-down

May it be called acoustics, stripped down or simply strings, it’s all about the gracious voices accompanying that guitar on Stripped Down.

And for our fresh new hits stripped down to their bare minimum to start the New Year, we have some exciting tracks to talk about.

Cake By The Ocean by the American pop-band DNCE debuted on the show last night with a bang! The disco-funk lead single was released on September 18, 2015 as their introduction to their Extended Play SWAAY. It charted around the globe including Australia, Canada and Hungary. And, I can see why the Hungarian diaspora would relate to this folklorish, peasantish melody, with the beat of the music molded to the shapes and mood of the labyrinth of their dance steps.

Unveiled on the show was also Fill Me In, the debut solo single by the British singer Craig David. Released on April of 2000 as the lead single of Born To Do It which was his first album, the song was covered by other artists including singer, songwriter and model from Guam Pia Mia, who in 2014 released her cover of the song featuring Austin Mahone. The acoustic version of RnB, pop, hip-hop Fill Me In successfully made it into Stripped Down as it was applauded by numerous fans!

A cover of Coldplay’s Adventure of A Lifetime was also in the menu of newbies in last night’s episode of Stripped Down. Performed by Conor Maynard, the dance-pop track was originally released only last November 6 by the English band as the leading single of their sixth album A Head Full Of Dreams. Maynard is an English singer-songwriter and child actor from Brighton who rose to success in 2012 when he won MTV’s Brand New.

Though a spectacular lineup of up-to-the-minute tracks, a couple of sensational acoustics conquered my heart on Stripped Down: Filter’s Take A Picture and Lenny Kravitz’s Fly Away. Needless to mention why this rocker over here really loved it abso-freakin’-lutely!

As expected, another fantastic show brought to us by Stripped Down as it featured tons of unbelievably ace tracks here on Y101 Always First
