It’s that time of the week when we feature Y101’s daytime slots, so today we’re hitting up Chad the Stud’s Midday Drive. Often times we tend to forget the importance of the DJ who’s got the rein behind the scene on such powerful hours like the lunchtime lick!
He isn’t called Chad the Stud for nothing! He’s that on-air playboy that sweeps those ladies off their feet with their ever-so-countless requests on their lunch break! The attractive male that he is, this talented DJ doesn’t just keep it all to himself – he gives it his all in his nonchalant style, as he enjoys delivering not what he likes, but what his audience wants to hear.
The Stud is an understatement too, when it refers to his charm and passion for music, and especially when he takes control of one of the most important slots of the day. I asked him what music he liked since I usually catch him on the downswing with mid-tempo or slow jams for some reason, but he replied “Wow – it depends on my mood!”
A connoisseur of contemporary hits, Chad engages his listeners into great melodies from Y101’s top charts to EDM to alternative tracks the good old fashioned way, juggling his perfect segue ways with the variety of beats – it’s just flat-out skilled artistry! A softy by nature, this lovable member of the Rhythm Crew, is sweetness at heart. A one-of-a-kind performer, he’s definitely one to listen to whether cruising around the city, having lunch with friends or family, or simply just working or studying behind a desk in the middle of the day.
“I like my slot – 10 to 2 is a comfortable niche. I don’t wake up early and I don’t go home late!” he says laughing. And when I asked who listens to him most he answered “Basically offices and some peeps on the road” although he can’t always mention who some of them are on that mic or they’ll get a memo!
