Mark McLeod claimed he had met the pop star 18 months prior and accepted his marriage proposal. He also said that Cyrus’ father Billy Ray Cyrus, approved of their relationship and that Miley was sending him “secret messages” through Hannah Montana.
The 53-year old pedophile has already been arrested in June that year for stalking Miley on the set of her movie The Last Song. But he was released because of jail overcrowding.
So exactly 7 years ago today, McLeod was arrested once again for the same crime. He delusionally insisted that the teenage Miley was engaged to him and so he was apprehended in his home in Georgia which is where the shooting of Miley’s Disney film was set.
Cops said he had ignored police orders to stay away from the movie set on Tybee Island near Georgia. Tybee Island Police Chief Jim Price said McLeod was arrested after Disney security officers reported he was spotted last weekend on the island 180 miles from his home asking about Cyrus.
"He was asking for Miley and going up and knocking on some doors," Price said. "He went up to the security guards and asked them 'Is Miley around?'" When the officers told him to go home, he screamed obscenities and tried to head-butt one of the arresting officers.
Once subdued, he told police then that he had sent Cyrus hundreds of letters and received her responses in the form of "secret messages" on her television show and website directed only to him.
Miley’s self-claimed “No. 1 fan” told officers, and I kid you not, that they were secretly engaged after "our eyes met at her concert and we both knew."! He said he had been watching her on the balcony of her hotel and added, "Nobody will ever be able to keep us apart."
McLeod also insisted that her father, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, had given him his blessing. "He shook my hand and said 'you're a good man we've been praying for,'" He also promised to invite arresting officer Warren Millikan to their wedding!
