all-night-live-with-carlow

I slipped into the booth to chinwag with Carlow, thinking he had something under the hat for All Night Live given that it was a new year.

He tells me that this New Year is just another new year, which only reveals his apathy towards the elation of the fête – his post on FB said it all as he mentioned 2015 was an amazing ride, a bit bumpy with lots of ups and downs, but that the force continues! And so it does as he rocks his show and his listeners with so much euphoria.

“It’s more like I’m looking forward to a new start” says Carlow when I told him he sounded awesome previous to the New Year Special Countdown two hours before that midnight. “It’s a new chapter in my life; I’ve learnt from the past and I’m trying to improve myself to reach my goals in life in the future – my life, my work and I’d like to travel” he continues. He’s definitely a positive dude in a lose mood, this guy! I give him props for the happy devil-may-care demeanor he carries as he looks at life from a positive angle.

“I want to be around people that bring you positivity and make you feel good about yourself” says Carlow and you know what? Being around the Y101 Crew will do all that because that’s what we’re all about – positive vibes, positive energy, positive thinking!

And with this, I ended a part of our chat in asking him his favorite song of the year. Lean On by the American electronic music group Major Lazer and French producer DJ Snake seems to take the lead on Carlow’s hit list – undeniably exquisite taste Carlow, as it’s happens to be one of my faves as well! LOL!

Also up there is American electronic music producer and DJ Audien featuring vocals from Lady Antebellum. And of course, British rapper Tinie Tempah Featuring Jesse Lynne’s hip hop, RnB track Not Letting Go had to be in there defining his preference for this genre as he mentions he watched him perform live. “It’s a toss-up among the three” he adds. Nevertheless, all great tunes; a superb choice of dynamos from a superb celeb!

As for his mid-tempo easy-listening time slot, he states that he’s still overwhelmed with the amount of listeners from all over the globe, predominantly Australia, Canada, Dubai and local online followers as well. “Most requests come in through the text line although they also do it over the web”.

Ending our dialog, it’s a rap with Carlow looking forward to more good hip hop and RnB songs this year, great colabos with drum and bass and music mixes from diverse genres. “I hope there’s less EDM” he says with an exclamation point as he’s not a huge fan of dance music!

So do keep it cuffed to Y101 Always First and lay it back with Carlow from 6PM-10PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and just chill…
