We've been having fast-moving countdowns these last weeks since the Biebs started tumbling down the charts, with oodles of new tracks in our music directory and lots of intense transformation within.

I'm not supposed to be telling but I can't seal my lips on this one – here's an exciting sneak peek! Our long awaited Adele is finally popping into the queue of probable tops with her latest track Hello which is making a grand lead-in not only here on the Weekly Top 20 countdown, but in the entire music world! Debuting at Number 15 in our charts today, this ballad which was only released last October 23 is already a universal success and I predict it will make it to Number 1 and pronto...

Last week we had three new entries as well: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis with Downtown inward bound at Number 15, The Vamps' Wake Up at Number 18 and Drake's Hottest Blink at Number 20, all of which prompted our countdown to turn around.

And as I anticipated on my previous WT20 article, How Deep Is Your Love by Calvin Harris Featuring The Disciples did go on overdrive, overtaking 4 slots to get to that Number 1 privileged position! Even as far back as when we started airing this powerhouse by the Scottish DJ and record producer released last July 17, we already knew this deep house dance anthem would be a commercial success – and indeed it was, with all its positive reviews and peaking atop in numerous countries. However, with all the fast paced tiff for the alp, it will be quite a competition for it to stay at Number 1.

When I asked Mike Solo, your entertaining host for WT20, what songs he liked in the countdown, he replied "I don't like all the songs but what's important is what our listeners vote in. I'm not a Justin Bieber fan for example, but I do like Tove Lo and by far, my favorite song in the chart right now is Diplo's Be Right There which is a fusion of the 80s and modern day music" but of course Solo has other choice cuts – so yes, this is the voice behind that WT20 mic, spoken like a true President!

He further comments that the show dictates our programming in Y101 because it's based on what our listeners want and not what our DJs choose. "It tells us a lot about the people that are locked into us and the songs we play" he continues. And when asked if he enjoyed doing the countdown, with much enthusiasm he yowled "I love watching those tracks race up to Number 1 each week" and as an excellent connoisseur and lover of cars, he tells me "when I do the show, it's like watching a Formula 1 race"!

So it must have been a thrilling experience for Solo to see Elle King's uptempo rock song Ex's & Oh's speed up to Number 2 and quite disappointing for him to watch Tove Lo's Time Bomb (presently at Number 3) slowly but surely head southbound after having been Number 1 for only one week.

At Number 4, we have Disclosure Featuring Sam Smith with a pretty cool track Omen which I briefly pointed out to you listeners a couple of weeks back as it came in strong and took a leap to make it to the biggest mover of that week. Big dynamos like these have true potentials to make it to the top so I wouldn't be surprised that this force makes it to Number 1 either.

Up 3 spots at Number 5 last week, we had Mr Probz & Afrojack's Nothing Really Matters, which incidentally debuted on our Sunday show, Sunset Cruise. A great remix radio edit that I think deserves the lead for its amazing upbeat tempo and appealing sound, this single by the Dutch recording artist released as early as last year and remashed is steaming!

WT20 producer Mike O has lots of grip when you keep it cuffed on the best countdown ever as he surprises you with what's hot in the islands right here at Y101 Always First on Saturdays from 10 AM – 12 noon!
