Thank God for the trendy 80s-tinted tracks that are currently popping up in the Billboard Top100s which makes Party Patrol's disco beats so apropos for the times. Why I say this is because even if I don’t quite fancy disco music specially coming from the 80s, this show really rocks!
But hey, we all have our top-drawers and choice cuts so if you’re into the party scene of the 80s and the 90s, here’s one hosted by DJ Neil which you’ll absolutely love! And even if I cringe after relishing my last track on Bootleg Gold, I’m sure there’s a whole bunch of you out there that can relate to this show!
This week on the cutting-edge gig, anticipate some dynamic sounds from the past that remind you of the deep-rooted Bai Disco up on Nivel Hills, at what was then called the Cebu Plaza Hotel. The music – good party sounds that made you wanna move from sunset till sunrise, from moonwalking to running man to crimping or simply jumping! And with this trailblazing revival of the times, here we’re given another chance to relive those dance floors, thanks to Neil (not Neil Pert nor Neil Young – hahaha!!!) but DJ Neil!
Let me start by letting you know that Party Patrol began in the early 90s. Playing the same set from back then, Neil has added the 2000 flavor to his mixes. So to summarize, we can describe this show to be a combination of golds and recurrent hits, and although leaning towards R&B and Hip Hop party songs which is really how it started, it’s today’s version of the past.
