THE NBA’s much-hyped “super team” fell painfully short in their season opener today.
San Antonio Spurs – (31, 33, 33, 32) Total: 129
Golden State Warriors – (20, 26, 31, 23) Total: 100
The Spurs benefited from a dazzling performance from LaMarcus Aldridge, who chipped in with 26 points, 14 rebounds and three assists.
Jonathon Simmons also stood out with 20 points from his 28 minutes on the court while veteran Manu Ginobili also made double figures with 10 points.
