Former Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago died peacefully in her sleep this Thursday morning (September 29, 2016) at the age of 71. Husband Atty. Jun Santiago confirms.
The former lawmaker passed away while confined at the St. Luke's Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City, Metro Manila. MDS succumbed to lung cancer which she publicly announced in 2012.
