Frank Ocean

Finally after four years since his first chart-topping, critically acclaimed album Channel Orange, the RnB singer is going to drop his new LP this Friday via Apple Music.

Frank Ocean is finally re-emerging from his self-imposed hideaway and announced the release date for his new album, and fans are restless about it since they heard Channel Orange back in 2012 . The new record, to be titled Boys Don't Cry will debut on Friday, August 5, as a special release, available exclusively through Apple Music. Accompanying the album will be a "video and a printed publication called 'Boys Don't Cry' that will be distributed at Apple stores,"

But don’t worry, after two weeks being only available through Apple, Boys Don't Cry will be released to the general public.

The news of the release comes following a (now apparently deleted) mysterious video stream on a site named after the upcoming album, along with photos of a library check out card with stamped dates reaching back to August 2015, and of Ocean flipping through a magazine. Those library card stamped dates are rumored to be supposedly the release dates of the album, and it is overdue.

Ocean had been working on the project since at least January 2013, but has stayed largely out of the spotlight following the release of his first studio album. he has although appeared in album credits for artists like Kanye West and James Blake in recent years. Perhaps as a result of his privacy, Ocean's sophomore album has become highly anticipated.

Since Friday is still a few days away, it’s best to play Channel Orange over and over til the new album drops. Check out 2012’s Forrest Gump here and get ready for Boys Dont Cry.
