The 20-year old American Idol finalist Jessica Sanchez debuted the song during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) held in Philadelphia, USA. The song was written for the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton.

Stronger Together was written by songwriters Carole Bayer Sager, Bruce Roberts and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, who also produced the piece. The song was played on Day 1 of the convention, right after former US president Bill Clinton’s speech.

The up-tempo pop song has Sanchez singing the lines, "Don't you know that we are stronger together / Stronger, yes we are / So much more when we're united together / One mind, one soul, one heart."

The DNC is where all the delegates of the United States Democratic Party will choose their nominees for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States in the 2016 national election.

Hillary Clinton had 2,382 majority votes in the Democratic Party. She will compete against Donald Trump from the Republican Party for the position of POTUS (President of the United States) this November.

Hillary Clinton is the first woman to be nominated for US President since America started inaugurating presidents in 1789.

Standing at an upright piano during the DNC, Alicia Keys plucked out the opening notes to Superwoman and proclaimed, "Women are the answer, we have the power to ensure this country gets on the right path."
