Be ready with your cheers because Pia Wurtzbach is coming home to the Philippines!

It's been a busy month for our Miss Universe. She is currently in New York doing a series of media interviews but she'll be coming back home to the pearl of the orient to attend a series of homecoming activities next week.

Her homecoming was confirmed by Bb. Pilipinas chairperson Stella Araneta through Binibining Pilipinas Facebook Page. She said that the homecoming will give the public a chance to see 26-year old Pia Wurzbach, the 3rd Filipina to covet the crown of the prestigious Miss Universe.

The last time the crown was worn by a Filipina was in 1973 when then-19 year old Margarita Moran won.

Pia will arrive today (January 23) in Manila. A grand homecoming parade will take route in Manila-Makati-Araneta Center, Quezon City on 25 January (Monday).

The beauty queen will also attend courtesy calls in government places like the Malacañang, offices of City Mayors, and to the House of Representatives.

On 28 January (Thursday), a Miss Universe Homecoming Special will take place at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Pia plans on extending her stay in the Philippines as she wants to attend the wedding of her best friend Pauleen Luna to Vic Sotto, the former lead vocalist to 70s disco band VST & Company. The wedding will take place on 30 January.
