The parade is only one of the activities in Pia's almost week-long homecoming, which will culminate in a show at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

On Tuesday, Wurtzbach said that her visit to the Philippines "reminded her of her journey towards winning Miss Universe", and that she feels humbled by the experience.

"Well, it's nice to be back home. It reminds me of everything that I had to go through to win Miss Universe. Seeing where I used to live, seeing my trainers, seeing Binibining Pilipinas", Wurtzbach said in an interview conducted by GMA News after Pia's courtesy call at the Malacañang.

"Seeing the Philippines, it just reminds me of the journey, the steps I took towards getting here and I think that in itself is very humbling already," she added.

On Wednesday, Forty wounded troopers at the AFP Medical Center in Quezon City will get a pleasant surprise as they will be visited by Pia Wurtzbach who has always intended to visit wounded soldiers.

Aside from battle casualties, Pia will also get to meet and talk with some HIV patients brought from outside.

Pia arrived in Manila on Saturday and will return on 31 January to New York from where she will fulfill her duties as Miss Universe.
