Kanye’s Shocking “Famous” MV is Out

Kanye is never shy from controversy.

Over the weekend he released the music video to Famous which features naked celebs that include Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Donald Trump, George W. Bush together in bed, post-coital presumably after an orgy.

Kanye’s Shocking “Famous” MV is Out

That’s right! Kanye West premiered the music video to his already controversial song Famous. Adding fuel to the fire, Kanye put out a voyeuristic visual accompaniment that features the nude bodies of Taylor Swift, Donald Trump, Kim Kardashian, Bill Cosby, George Bush, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Amber Rose, Ray J, Anna Wintour, and Caitlyn Jenner sleeping and sharing one huge bed. The final aerial shot of the music video resembles the Vincent Desiderio painting “Sleep”.

In an interview from Vanity Fair, West explained that the video is “a comment on fame”. True to its aesthetics, the video delivers a shocking voyeuristic look at 12 famous celebrities (or synthetic versions of them, at least) laying in bed with the real Kanye West at the center. What makes the music video interestingly offensive is that it features celebrities controversially linked to West or basically just a celebrity who is a controversial force him or herself also especially considering the context of the song.

West placed a naked Taylor Swift beside him while his naked wife lies on the other side. A naked Rihanna lies beside her abusive ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. Kim Kardashian’s step father turned transexual Caitlyn Jenner can also be found lying among the controversial dozen that also include Kanye’s ex Amber Rose and recently charged sex offender Bill Cosby.

West said that he took great care to avoid a sexual vibe, though whether he's successful there will depend on how much viewers will be able to suspend their knowledge of the overt sexual drama between the video's characters.

Reactions:

Considering the uproar over the video, even West was surprised by the lack of reactions from the celebs depicted on the controversial clip. Prolific Twitter user Donald Trump has not commented on his quasi-cameo, while Swift, Amber Rose and Rihanna have been similarly mum on social media. The lack of response had West tweeting (but later deleted) on Sunday morning: “Can somebody sue me already #I'llwait”

Chris Brown, however, did respond to the music video by posting a pair of Instagram photos, first one complaining about the "plumbers butt" on his wax figure and then a Barbie version of the visual:

Why I gotta have the plumbers butt/ crack showing WAX figure?????. This nigga KANYE CRAZY, talented, but crazy ????

The music video was released exclusively on Tidal. Considering the controversial explicit nature of the video, it will definitely not be uploaded to YouTube. You can watch the (NSFW) music video here. The video contains nudity.
