The bassist for the veteran rockers - who are also made up of singer Vince Neil, drummer Tommy Lee and guitarist Mick Mars - admits the 'Dr. Feelgood' hitmakers are constantly "reinventing themselves" to ensure their music stays relevant, and he is excited about their forthcoming new material. 
He said: "We are reinventing ourselves, we just keep taking chances really. 
 
"We are writing things right now. We are just writing, you just write, write, write until you have enough songs and then you record."
 
Nikki was recently awarded the Showman of the Year prize at the Classic Rock Roll of Honour and he is pleased to have been talked about in the same circles as legendary group Queen and artist David Bowie. 
 
The 63-year-old star added to BANG showbiz: "It is great to be recognised with the likes of Queen and Bowie. Those guys are at the top of their game and if people want to put us in the same list then I'm very proud of that. There are a lot of great guys to study for those who want to make it big in this industry."
