Bruno Mars is singing about regrets and missed opportunities in his new song, "When I Was Your Man."

On Monday, he released an audio-only video and artwork for his new single.

Though he's singing about heartache, Bruno took to Twitter Sunday, with loads of excitement for "When I Was Your Man." The singer posted artwork for the single along with the comment, "Soon you guys will hear a song I wrote called When I Was Your Man. I've never been this nervous. Can't explain it."

In "When I Was Your Man," Bruno recalls better days with lyrics that pine for lost love. He sings, "Too young, too dumb to realize that/I shoulda bought you flowers/And held your hand/Shoulda gave you all my hours/When I had the chance... Now my baby's dancing but she's dancing with another man."

As the song ends, Bruno accepts that getting back together might be not be in the cards, but hopes that his former love will find a more attentive lover and someone who will "Do all the things I should have done when I was your man."
