With Christmas around the corner, loads of things are happening on the show that takes care of those frustrating hours!
As we all know, Afternoon Drive runs from 2 to 6 in the afternoon when traffic’s in full swing nowadays but with John M, even the worst of all your frustrations can be buoyant. Being the ingenious and quick-witted entertainer that he is, he can make those rush-hour nightmares feel like you’re whooping it up with caviar and champagne!
Afternoons bring in gazillions of listeners, from office personnel about to end their long nerve-wracking days at work all the way to people on the terrifying roads out to do their Christmas panic shopping in those crowded malls but the one thing that John does is really prep you up in making you feel it is the season to be jolly!

He may include Bruce Springsteen’s version of Santa Clause Is Coming To Town, Tom Petty’s All Over Again or who is one of his favorite singers Chrissie Hynde’s 2000 Miles among the oodles of festivity tracks, possibly even including some Hanukkah themed tunes. With lots of genres that are guilty of terrible rock covers of Santa and Rudolf, do not fret as John M’s fabulous taste in music will bring you the ultimate 240 minute P.M.!
It goes without saying that the manner in which he integrates the currents with his classics is so blasé, he doesn’t do away with the hottest contemporaries like our Number 1 track right now from Adele, Hello or the Biebs and the Tays! All this mashed together with his incredible sense of humor present the greatest entertaining afternoons, even as exasperated as you may be!
It’s going to be a merry and quirky midafternoon this season with John M as he takes you on that Afternoon Drive when you lock it into Y101 Always First Mondays through Thursdays from 2 to 6, and on Friday’s Gold Rush so keep it cuffed!
