Yes. Ed Sheeran –the English singer-songwriter of multi -awarded album ÷ (Divide) –has left the popular social media website Twitter, citing ‘mean’ comment from internet trolls.

In a published article from The Sun, the 26-year old shared the pain he encounters upon checking on his social media account.

“I’ve actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it.”, he said.

“I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things. Twitter’s a platform for that.”


Added, the singer expressed his dismay on viewing the website’s comments towards him.

“One comment ruins your day. But that’s why I’ve come off it.

“The head-f*** for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much.”

Sheeran, having garnered 19 million followers, says from now on he'll keep his account open, but will only share automatic updates from his Instagram page.

Famous celebrities including Stephen Fry, Adele, Rylan Clark-Neal and Zayn Malik have all at some time temporarily quit Twitter due to anger.
