The legendary heavy metal band and the British girl group battle out in the charts!
Metallica are battling it out with Little Mix for this week’s UK Number One album.
The metal veterans’ first album in eight years Hardwired… To Self-Destruct, is currently 64,000 combined sales behind the all girl group’s 4th album Glory Days. The last time Metallica went to Number One was in 2008 with their last album Death Magnetic.
Just behind Metallica in the charts is Bruno Mars, who’s new album 24K Magic is at number three.
Meanwhile. it was recently confirmed that Metallica are officially the most-streamed metal band in the world, with fans listening to 11,892 years’ worth of their music online.
Spotify concluded that the band are the most streamed metal band on their platform, with 7 million listeners a month. Their biggest hit Enter Sandman has been streamed 108 million times while their music in general makes an appearance on 15 million user playlists.
