Bono Just Became Glamour's First Man of the Year

U2 frontman Bono is the first man ever to be named in the list of Glamour Magazine’s annual ‘Women Of The Year’.

The Beautiful Day icon rocker has been praised for his activism and work to push for gender equality and empowering women throughout the world. His most recent campaign is ‘Poverty Is Sexist’ – designed to help the world’s poorest women gain access to food, clean water, education, and health care, as well as civil and human rights and protection from sexual violence.

“I’m sure I don’t deserve it,” he told Glamour of the honor. “But I’m grateful for this award as a chance to say the battle for gender equality can’t be won unless men lead it along with women. We’re largely responsible for the problem, so we have to be involved in the solutions.”
