‘Stranger Things’ Season 2 – All You Need To Know

Stranger Things Season 2

There will be new characters like Mad Max and her brother, Barb will get her justice, and Eleven might come back!

The supernatural-horror-science fiction hit series, Stranger Things is being renewed for a second season. The first season of Stranger Things revolves around the disappearance of a young boy, and a telekinetic girl who helps his friends in their search, while the boy's older brother, mother, and the town police chief start their own investigations. The show is set in the 1980s in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, and is an homage to '80s pop culture, inspired and aesthetically informed by the works of Steven Spielberg and Stephen King. The first season was a hit, with most of your friends talking about it on Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr.

After being given the green light to produce the next season, the Duffer brothers, the creators of the series, have given clues and insights on what will appear in the town of Hawkins next year. The season 2 premier can be streamed some time mid-year in 2017. While season 1 was set in the autumn of 1983, the next season will be in the autumn season (September to November) of the year 1984. The teaser trailer below reveals the episode titles of the next season.

The Duffer brothers revealed that the new series will answer the questions still remaining after season one. This means you can safely assume that Mike, Dustin, Joyce, and Lucas will be returning for season two. However, Eleven’s appearance in season two remains “up in the air.

They also revealed the four new characters will be joining. One of these is believed to be “Max”, a “tough and confident” early teenage girl who rides a skateboard and whose “appearance, behaviour and pursuits seem more typical of boys than of girls in this era.

Also joining the cast will be her “very muscular and hyper-confident” brother Billy, who reportedly drives a Camaro. And “Roman”, a gender neutral character in their thirties, will also be cast for the show. According to their backstory, Roman has been seeking revenge for a childhood loss throughout their life

The Duffer brothers have also confirmed that the new series will feel more like a “sequel” than an anthology. Executive Producer Dan Cohen told Yahoo! that the new season will feel "bigger and badder and darker" than the original.

Reportedly also, the characters will be returning to the Upside Down. Matt Duffer said that they “definitely want to explore a little bit more” of the Upside Down. Ross adds “We really don’t go in there much until they go in to find Will at the end. So we’ve opened up this doorway, and to us it’s exciting to talk about, like, what else is behind there?

And also they promised to offer justice for Barb in season 2. "We’ll make sure there’s some justice for Barb. People get very frustrated, understandably, that the town doesn’t seem to be really dealing with Barb. That stuff is all happening.”
