Zayn Malik Plots Inspired TV Series 'Boys'

Former One Direction member Zayn Malik is teaming up with American television producers to make a TV show about a boy band.

The show, called Boys, will focus on the thrills and insane pressures of being young and getting "catapulted into fame at a dizzying speed.” Zayn Malik teamed up with Law & Order creator and producer Dick Wolf to conceptualize this TV series that is looking to be in a similar vein to the Jonas Brothers’ now defunct Disney sitcom Jonas.

It will also feature original music, presumably so it can create another One Direction in the process.

Details about the project are scant, but it will be written by Beauty and the Beast co-creators Sherri Cooper Landsman and Jennifer Levin. The co-creator to the upcoming boy band TV series Noelle Wolf told Variety, "we were intrigued by the synergistic potential that Zayn brings to the project," though it's not clear exactly what Malik's role will be.”
