Bootleg radio show main

Like any other art form, songwriting is open to interpretations. Once in a while, a great musician will play another great musician’s song and bring something new in the delivery.

This week in Bootleg Gold, Y101 brings you the best classic covers of even more classic songs.

At 6pm – 8 pm, tune in to the Remakes Special and rock out as Y101 brings you the hottest rock and roll remakes of the past decades.

In 1968, Steppenwolf came out with the first heavy metal song with Born to Be Wild. Then 40 years later, Hinder remade the classic heavy metal track and added multiple guitar solos adding more fuel to the fire and making the song even hotter!

Listen to one of the best rock covers ever as the usually energetic and frenetic metal band Limp Bizkit strips down to an acoustic electric guitar with ther emotional cover of The Who’s classic 1971 rock song Behind Blue Eyes.

Bob Dylan penned one of his most popular post-60’s song with Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door. It has become one of Dylan’s most covered songs and somewhere in the 80’s Guns N Roses started rocking the song in their live sets. In 1990, the most dangerous band in the world recorded the classic country song and made it their own.

Remakes Special has a lot to offer you on Bootleg Gold. Tune in every Friday, 6 to 8 pm, to hear a lot of awesome timeless tunes as Y101 brings you back in time to celebrate the summers of your life.
