It has already been three weeks since the legendary musician died, but his music and legacy will always remain. His influence has reached farther than anyone can imagine. Many contemporary musicians wouldn’t even exist if Prince hadn’t come into their lives. That’s why this week on Bootleg Gold we are celebrating the music around the legend that is Prince.
Bootleg Gold will be playing two hours of nothing but Prince and Prince-inspired nostalgia. At 6pm to 8pm, your radio will be filled with music that revolves around the King of Purple.
Meet the rockers that influenced the sounds of Prince as we play the music that helped shape how he was as a performer and as a musical genius. Prince’s idols like James Brown, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and David Bowie to name a few will blast out from your stereo tonight.
And of course his best works will get played too along with cover songs he made of his favorite tracks. Tonight you’ll be able to hear Prince’s rocking cover of Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love and experience his brilliant guitar skills in his friends’ tribute performance of George Harrison’s While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
Mixed somewhere in there are cool songs from musicians who owe their careers to Prince. Adam Levine will play Purple Rain and the Foo Fighters will give you a rocking good time in their cover of Darling Nikki. Be also on the lookout for songs from Train, Better than Ezra, and Chris Cornell.
