Ushering in 2016 with explosives, Bootleg Gold treats you to 120 minutes of pure rock loaded with bashing tracks be fitting the New Year bang!
Cranking this evening’s powerhouse with New Year’s Day by U2, the show opens the throttle bursting it on sixth gear to celebrate the first day of the year, followed by the sweltering dynamo by The Cult, Firewoman and another driving force by Van Halen, Jump – not a bad start at all for the most sought-after day of the year!
Going flat out on the special for the 70s pack are tracks from Santana, The Beatles and Deep Purple with some upbeat bombshells to continue the sprint. The 90s puts the pedal to the metal with an amazing set from the Foos, STP and Nirvana gathering momentum to end the last leg of the first hour of the turbine-powered show with a hefty 2000 series.
The second hour of Bootleg Gold has nothing to envy the first half as it nails it with a Super Bowl kickoff Start Me Up by The Rolling Stones – a very appropriate avenue to start up Side B of the show and the year ahead! And in quest of that action-packed adrenaline, we have Def Leppard’s Let’s Get Rocked right after, to shake you for the fresh new fangled year. Ending the 80s set we roll the red carpet to none other than Guns N’ Roses as they welcome you to 2016 with Welcome To The Jungle – choice!
More 90s with Pearl Jam, Metallica and Tom Cochrane to keep the livewire on overdrive and yet another amazing 70s suite of solid bangers to shepherd in the 2000s grand finale kicking it off with Viva La Vida by Coldplay and a couple more chart busting rock tracks from Aerosmith and Yellowcard – way to go!
