rick dees TOP 40 COUNTDOWN

Every week Rick Dees brings you the latest hits and right now he sets the playlist of the soundtrack of your summer in motion!

This week the very successful Danish single 7 Years by 27-year old Lukas Graham has climbed up very close to number 2. The emotional ballad could very well replace Justin Bieber’s Love Yourself (no. 1) in no time. Joe Jonas (former member of the Jonas Brothers) sits at number 3 with his and his friends’ single Cake by the Ocean while Zayn Malik (former member of One Direction) sits high as well, grabbing the number 4 position with his single Pillow Talk.

The rest of the top ten is pretty much the same from last week, except some songs have dropped or climbed a position down or up. G-Eazy and Bebe Rexha’s catchy Me, Myself & I drops to number 5, and Twenty One Pilot’s Stressed Out climbs to number 8. The rest is still more or less the same; Selena Gomez Hands to Myself (10), Fifth Harmony Work from Home (9), Meghan Trainor No (7), Mike Posner I Took a Pill to Ibiza (6), etc.

Aside from Love Yourself, there are still older songs that are still charting this week. It still proves some songs are still very popular even if it came out a few months ago. Adele’s Hello has still made way in the Top 40s, grabbing a position at number 30, Justin Bieber’s Sorry at number 32, and Taylor Swift’s Wildest Dream at 35.

Sitting just at the edge in number 40 is Pink’s new single Just Like Fire from the Alice Through the Looking Glass soundtrack. Other older artists still made their way in the charts. Jason Derulo came back with If It Ain’t Love (25), Gwen Stefani has Make Me Like You (33) and even rock band Panic! At the Disco were able to join with their single Victorious sitting at number 37.
