It has been three weeks now since Lukas Graham’s 7 Years is on the top of Rick Dees’ Top 40’s. Mike Posner and SeeB’s I Took a Pill to Ibiza is still waiting for its chance to jump in and replace the Danish band’s reign but now Pill is just sitting comfortably in number 2.
Another Top 10 potential is Selena Gomez who’s already have three songs roaming around the Top 40’s. Her song Kill Em with Kindness debuts this week at 28 while her previous singles Same Old Love and Hands to Myself are clinging on to numbers 33 and 21 respectively.
Last week, Justin Timberlake’s new summer anthem Can’t Stop the Feeling debuted at number 20. This week, it climbed really fast at number 12, proving that the song will become the summer’s biggest hit and 2016’s own Happy by Pharrell.
Another great alternative for summer song of the year is Drake’s One Dance. With its dancehall and afrobeat sensibilities, the song might become the greatest Summer anthem of the world. Drake is joined by British singer Kyla and Nigerian afrobeat artist Wizkid on the track that has climbed to number to number 8 this week.
