With Justin Bieber's Sorry, Adele's Hello is a goodbye!

I don't mean to be offensive here but another Justin Bieber track past the winning post is just a little over-rated for the studio album Purpose. Even if I personally feel that Sorry is a tinge better than What Do You Mean, quite frankly I believe that these tracks reach Number 1 because of all the publicity stunts these celebrities unveil and not because they are truly choice.

As an example, the bad boy pulled one a little over a week ago in Mexico when he was sauced and disrespectfully mooned the world from a restricted area in some Mayan ruins. Now, how juvenile is that? Or should I say, how ingenious is that being a similar hype to the Bali incident when his ding-a-long-dong was inadvertently or should I say purposely exposed to the world at large?

It's quite obvious that I'm not a Belieber but for that matter, neither am I a Directioner, nor a Parawhore and much less a Daydreamer, so I'm actually quite ecstatic that Adele's Hello is now at Number 3 after having had her for almost two months at the peak, even if it's replaced by a sorry track! Whether the ballad deserves the blurb or not, it's gotten boring and redundant to hear the song, and in spite of concurring with the well-deserved reception of her studio album 25, Adele's simply gotten old in my opinion!

I had an inkling that Justin Bieber's Sorry which was parked at Number 2 last week, had good odds to make it to the top. With all the propaganda it's been getting since its release last October 23, 2015, it's become another bombshell. What's fluky is that trailing it at Number 2 is Bieber's ex Selena Gomez, with her track Same Old Love out of her second studio album Revival. Why I say this is because coincidentally, a few days back, he was cutting down the hot dude on her most recent sexy video Hands To Myself. Could it be that he's a tad bit jealous?

Alessia Cara continues to be at Number 4 with her lead single Here while at Number 5 we have Meghan Trainor Featuring John Legend up one with Like I'm Gonna Lose You. I'm not too sure where PBR&B Canadian singer Cara is heading towards with this sleeper hit but for my part, I sense it's a try-hard R&B debut track piggy-backing on the youth that is dog-tired of the surplus of pop tracks. However, my intuition tells me that Trainor has a very good chance of making it up there with her appealing soul hit, and taking into consideration that this song received positive reviews, chances are it will head northbound.

Forwarding fast at Number 7 right now is the Canadian phenomenon Weeknd with a tomahawk titled In The Night which I'd classify as supreme – I absolutely love this track and I totally think this guy's a genius! I'll tell you why – his tracks have been compared to Michael Jackson's works and that alone tells me a lot about this artist!

I'm actually awaiting anxiously how the Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 will chum-out next week with so many tracks queued up. With Adele versus The Biebs, it's almost like a Mayweather versus Pacquiao scenario so it's quite an exciting countdown up ahead right here on Y101 Always First. Lock it in from 2 PM to 6 PM every Sunday – it's definitely a must!
Dee's countdown is also replayed on Wednesdays from 6 PM to 10 PM.
