Nothing unforeseen – Justin Bieber rules the countdown yet another time with Love Yourself...

In this week's Valentine edition of the Rick Dees Weekly Top 40, there's been a change of guard. Alessia Cara, who's led the charts with her epic lounge soul track Here for the past two weeks, has decided to succumb to The Biebs as he now presides over the myriads of compositions with Love Yourself. At Number 1 again, the Canadian heartthrob governs the countdown with another song from his fourth studio album Purpose.

Written by Bieber himself with Ed Sheeran and produced and co-written by Benjamin Levin, the acoustic pop and blue eyed-soul inspired driving force has had nothing but positive reception from critics and especially his Beliebers! It was first released as a promotional single on November 9, 2015 although later it was announced to be the third single of the studio album.

Debuting at Number 4 in the Billboard Hot 100s, Bieber had three concurrent songs within the top five standings together with Sorry and What Do You Mean. This alone made an avowal as it was only The Beatles in 1964, 50 Cent in 2005 and him that have had the honor to earn such a matchless achievement. The truth is: whether or not The Biebs releases a blockbuster, the king of teeny-boppers will always be a winner!

Still lingering at Number 4, we have The Weeknd as a non-mover with the rhythmic billboard In The Night as Twenty One Pilots takes it by surprise and surpasses it with their alternative hip hop track Stressed Out at Number 3 this week. Quite a hostile takeover by the American musical duo Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun from Columbus, Ohio, who debuted into the top 40 chart in mid-January and hiked it up from Number 20!

At Number 5, we have Selena Gomez leave-taking Same Old Love from the tops as The Chainsmokers Featuring Rozes at Number 6 is prepping to get its Roses in there. Daya's Hideaway is making its way into the cookie jar too, creeping up to Number 8 this week from Number 10. As for Flo Rida, it made a huge mount from Number 17 to Number 10 with My House.

What it's looking like is that this year of the monkey will finally belong to R&B and hip hop with their grass roots hitting up the hoi polloi! Drum and bass, soul and rap are in there to complement the mélange so watch out for more of this fusion to seize the charts.

Meanwhile, let Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 continue to keep us in the loop with the hottest tracks in the US, so be with us to check out next week's updatesright here on Y101 Always First.
