It seems like the motif for Jiggy Jr’s show yesterday morning was beauty.
Lalen Calayan and Selina Sevilla, beauty experts of the ML Calayan Skincare clinic, stopped by the station and talked with Jiggy to promote the newly opened Selina’s Castle of Beauty and Wellness. A few minutes before that, our morning host was talking with three personified beauties; the young finalists of this year’s Miss Tourism Cebu. Their visit to the station practically greeted the rhythm of the city to a beautiful day.
Julia Nakayama is the winner of the International Travel Festival’s Miss Tourism Cebu 2017. She is a Tourism student of the University of San Jose-Recoletos. As the winner of this year’s pageant, Nakayama said she “is overwhelmed and honored to be crowned” as so. The young beauty queen said she will “be a role model to all the people around her, and extend a hand to those in need”. Nakayama also said she “would like to help the environment and give food to street children”.
For her part, first runner up Christine Mae Salas said she will advocate the lesser known islands whose beauty are anything but less. Salas, who is a Tourism student of the University of San Carlos, said she wants to remind people of the existence of beautiful islands like Siargao and Bohol which are less popular with tourists.
4th runner up Kreystel Dela Peña of the University of Southern Philippines Foundation, said her childhood dream was to become a flight attendant. Her main goal is to provide quality service to every passenger she meets. She even told our morning host that it’s a “great privilege to take care of passengers.” And “you get paid to go to other places as well”, the young Tourism student added in jest.
Jiggy Jr truly had a set of beautiful guests yesterday morning. Young and gorgeous Tourism students who aim to break a stereotype. 1st runner up Christine Mae Salas described it best, “Tourism students. They’re not just beautiful faces. They are smart as well.”
