Cebu Marathon, the much awaited footrace event in the province, will finally be happening this Sunday, January 13, 2019. The 12th edition of the annual race is organized by the Cebu Executive Runners Club (CERC) and will take place at the Cebu Business Park where participants and spectators are treated to another festive atmosphere.
The race will feature 5K, 21K and 42K categories. The slots have all been filled out since last year, but the registration for the 5K category has just reopened this week. People who wish to participate in the 5K category can still register at the Race Expo in The Activezone located at Ayala Center Cebu. The registration fee for 5K is pegged at P750.
This year’s Cebu Marathon has already attracted 4,115 racers, 1,680 of which are competing for the 42K category. The first gun start will fire as early as 3AM. Finishers will receive a finisher’s shirt, post-race meal and a newly-designed medal made in Cebu. The course of the race will start and finish at the Cebu Business Park and will cover most of Cebu City passing through Colon Street, Fuente Circle, Osmeña Boulevard and the Provincial Capitol.
