Gaisano Country Mall is celebrating its 25th anniversary next month, and with that, they are bringing back their annual marathon to be held on October 28 (Sunday). The race, which will start and finish at the Gaisano Country Mall parking lot, will feature 5K, 6K, 10K, 15K and 21K categories, passing through a slightly different route than last year’s.

This year, Gaisano Country Mall is bringing an extra challenge to spice up the race. For the 6K category, runners are expected to make a turning point inside Camp Lapu-Lapu and go through nine different obstacles before heading back to the finish line. The obstacle course will feature a monkey bar, a low crawl, a classic football run, a tire wall and a maze. The 6K Extra Challenge, is only open Filipino citizens ages 18 to 45.

Beneficiary for this year’s race is the Missionaries of the Poor, a charity based in Talisay City and Sawang Calero that provide free-service like food, shelter and medicine needs to mendicants and abandoned children. All proceeds will go straight to the Missionaries of the Poor who right now need a “supermarket of things” to help the people in need.

Registration fees - inclusive of snacks, loot bag, raffle tickets, and singlet - are pegged at P400 for 5K, P500 for 10K, P600 for 15K, and P700 for 21K. The finishers for 15K and 21K will get medals at the end of the race. The 6K category that features the obstacle course is pegged at P800 and each finisher will receive an exclusive medal and finisher’s shirt.

Registration centers are located at the customer service area of Gaisano Country Mall and Gaisano Main, ant at RUNNR in Ayala Center Cebu.
