Dips for the Summer

Take a dip with these delicious recipes!

Summer is all about parties and small gatherings. We all like to prepare food to share for everyone and nothing beats the classic chips and dip combo. The best part? There's absolutely no cooking involved! Why not give these recipe's a try?

Fresh Salsa Dip

Fresh Salsa Dip

This is a personal favorite of me and my friends! I like to mince some tomatoes (a combination of ripe and almost ripe ones), bell peppers, mangoes (make sure to squeeze the juice from the seed too!), red onions and cucumber. Mix these together, add a squeeze of calamansi and a dash of salt and pepper to taste. Add red chili flakes if desired. This tastes great not only with some chips but with grilled meat and fish, too! Make sure to consume within the day to avoid spoilage. Trust me on this one!

Classic Creamy Tuna Dip

Classic Creamy Tuna Dip

This works well with crackers! Take a can of tuna and make sure to drain its oil and juices. Take equal parts of some Mayo (or use a vegan-based Mayo for a healthier option), 3 table spoons of minced red onions, half a teaspoon garlic, a dash of salt and pepper to taste. Squeeze in some juice from half a lemon slice too. You can even add a table spoon of diced pickles! Mix these together in a bowl and pop the mixture in the microwave for one minute.

Tomato Avocado Dip

Tomato Avocado Dip

Take 2 pitted and peeled avocados and mash them in a bowl. Get 1 1/2 of large tomatoes and slice them in cubes. Mince 1 white onion too as well as a jalapeno or red bell pepper. Squeeze in the juice of one lemon, and add salt and pepper to taste. Mix these together and you're in for a refreshing and healthy treat!

Real Cheese Pimento Dip

Real Cheese Pimento Dip

Skip the store-bought cheese spread and opt for the real thing. A dip recipe list is never complete with some cheese, am I right? Grate a bar of cheddar cheese, add a bar of cream cheese, 2 table spoons of grated red onions, 4 table spoons of jarred pimientos OR minced large red bell pepper and some salt and pepper to taste. Mix these in and enjoy with some corn chips!
