: Is Kesha Working with Zedd

We all know what happened to Kesha with all her legal battles, but has she really moved on?

The background story; Back in October 2014, Kesha filed a lawsuit against her producer Dr. Luke for emotional abuse, sexual assault, and employment discrimination. We found out that Kesha’s creative growth as an artist was stunted by Luke’s management and that she had little creative control over her second album, Warrior. Dr. Luke in return sued the singer and her mother for defamation and breach of contract.

According to the suit, Luke allegedly drugged and raped the Tik Tok singer on two occasions. He made threats against Kesha and her family and called her derogatory terms. Luke was allegedly “sexually, physically, verbally, and emotionally” abusing the singer since the beginning of their professional career.

Dr. Luke denied all allegations and counter-sued Kesha and her mother for “defamatory statements in an attempt to extort Luke into releasing Kesha from her exclusive recording agreement”.

Kesha wanted to make music and have creative control on them. On 19 February 2016, Kesha’s request to be released from her contract with Kemosabe Records, a label owned by Dr. Luke under the umbrella of Sony Music Entertainment, was denied. The Supreme Court judge said that Kesha and her lawyer were essentially "asking the court to decimate a contract that was heavily negotiated and typical for the industry". The judge also cited that Kesha’s claims against Luke were vague, referring to the lack of documentation or hospital records supporting the alleged attack.

On 6 April, the New York judge dismissed all of Kesha’s claims. If you want to read more about her legal loss you can click here

After all the legal battles, numerous celebrities reacted to the ruling and several musicians voiced out their support for Kesha. The EDM artist Zedd offered to produce and work with Kesha.

On 16 April, Kesha made a surprise performance during the Coachella Music Festival. She sang Zedd’s song True Colors live on stage.

Then a few days ago, Zedd posted a picture on Instagram of him and a female artist in the studio. Though the woman in the picture wasn’t identified, but basing on the multi-colored tresses under the fedora hat, it looked most possibly like Kesha.

After tweeting his support for Kesha a couple of weeks ago, Zedd said, "I just read an article about [the case], literally right before I made the tweet because I didn't know her personally. I thought sending a tweet was kind of the best way to get in touch with her. "The only thing I can really do to help is produce songs and that's what I offered. Her team actually hit us back confirming that I was serious about it, which is really cool. I'm obviously very serious about it, so maybe something will happen. Maybe there's something I can do. Maybe we can do some music. Nothing I can say right now, but it would be cool."
