Katharine McPhee and David Foster have officially tied the knot last June 28 in the South Kensington District of West London. Around 150 people were in attendance, including all of Fosters children.
Mcphee posted on her Instagram: “Exactly 13 years ago today my very first single, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, was released right after Idol. Today… I’m marrying the man who produced it. Life is full of beautiful coincidences, isn’t it? Thank you for taking me over the rainbow, David.”
The wedding marks Mcphee’s second marriage and Foster’s fifth. Foster was previously married to B.J. Cook, Rebecca Dyer, Linda Thompson and Yolanda Hadid while McPhee was previously married to Nick Cokas.
The couple first met in 2006 on the set of American Idol Season 5 when Foster was a guest mentor and Mcphee was a contestant. They had been friends and collaborators for more than a decade. Foster even played the piano at Mcphee’s wedding to her first husband.
Rumours of their romance started swirling 2017 but the couple confirmed their relationship status in 2018 with a red carpet public appearance at the Met Gala. Foster proposed to McPhee while on a European vacation last July 2018.
The newlyweds are currently enjoying a romantic honeymoon in Italy.
