Blink-182 , New Cover

Over the last few days, Blink-182 has been posting artwork images and today they premiered a new single since the departure of Tom DeLonge.

Tom DeLonge was the guitarist and co-lead vocalist of the band. They broke up in 2005 due to internal conflicts spearheaded by DeLonge who felt conflicted about his creative freedom in the group and the toll of touring that has taken on him.

The band reformed in 2009, but eventually internal conflicts came into play again. DeLonge’s hectic schedule with his other band Angels & Airwaves and other personal issues led to the delay of the release of a new album. As a result DeLonge was replaced by Alkaline Trio vocalist/guitarist Matt Skiba in March 2015.

The last Blink album was Neighborhoods in 2011. In 2012 they released the EP Dogs Eating Dogs which became the last record they recorded with DeLonge.

A week ago, drummer Travis Barker tweeted a post saying that the new Blink-182 album cover was finished.

The following week, the band posted pieces of pop-art images without any captions in their Instagram account.

Although in an interview with KROQ radio, the band claimed that the image pieces are the artwork for their first single off the new album.

Today, they premiered their new single called Bored to Death. The official release of their album isn’t announced yet. Producer John Feldmann reassured fans that the band are still the same at their core.

The guys aren't 23 anymore, they're dads now, so they're no longer writing songs about poo and that kind of stuff. But there's still got to be a sense of humor to it; it's got to be fun and funny, but also age appropriate. There's got to be growth on the album and there is."
