Kanye West meeting with Donald Trump

The two controversial figures also shared a hug outside the Trump Tower yesterday.

Back on Twitter, Kanye West has explained why he met up with Donald Trump in New York yesterday.

This was after video footage emerged of Kanye embracing Trump in front of cameras. Trump claimed that the pair had been friends for a “long time” and Kanye was asked if he was going to play Trump’s inauguration on January 20.

The rapper took to Twitter earlier this morning to reveal that he met with the President-elect to “discuss multicultural issues” which included “bullying, supporting teachers, modernising curriculums, and violence in Chicago”.

He added: “I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change.”

Kanye signed off with the hashtag #2024, suggesting that he may run for President himself if Trump serves two terms.
