Johnny Depp, known for his famous character as Captain Sparrow in the most successful franchise movie the Pirates of the Caribbean, earned 3.7 billion dollars this year.

This was the result of the combination of the 4 movies which is why Forbes’ named him as the most overpaid actor of 2015 for the second year in a row. But he failed to strike the box office of his role as Lord Charlie in the movie Mortdecai (2015) and Dr. Will in Transendence (2014). His recent movies returned just $1.20 for every $1 he was paid on them.

Alongside with Depp, the second most overpaid actor is Denzel Washington, who returned a dismal $6.50 for every $1 he earned from his recent films and on the third list is Will Ferrell, who starred in the Warner Bros.’ Get Hard, Anchorman 2 and The Campaign. Ferrell returns $6.80 for every $1 paid.

Forbes compiled the rundown of each actor’s starred in before June 2015 and didn’t include animated movies, smaller budget flicks, or cameos.

Luckily for Depp, he has this two promising upcoming sequels with Alice Through The Looking Glass next year and another Pirated of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales in 2017 and both film should boost his ratios.
