Tired of the usual? Check out these spots!

Valentine’s Day also known as Saint Valentine’s Day, or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is a romantic occasion, celebrated on February 14 of each year. It is celebrated in many countries around the world, but is technically not a public holiday in most of them.

February 14 is a day that romantic couples and soon-to-be couples are well familiar with. It is customary to plan something special with your respective partner on this day. Whether it’s a romantic candlelit dinner, a fun day at the beach, or overnight stay at a luxurious hotel, Valentine’s Day always demands a very intimate experience.

But let’s all be honest with ourselves, even the most romantic candlelit dinner can become boring after the third or fourth time around. Many couples now are looking for the ultimate Valentine’s Day experience, and some have resorted to flying around to some of the world’s most breathtaking destinations. Luckily for us, some of these destinations can be found in our Southeast Asia neighborhood! Below is a short list of some hotspots to check out for a last minute Valentine’s Day getaway

Moc Chau Highlands, Vietnam

February is a particularly magical time of couples in Vietnam. It marks the beginning of the warmer spring season, and it’s also the season when Moc Chau’s vibrant Cherry Blossoms are in full bloom. You can expect to see rolling hills, sprinkled with light pastels in this majestic highland. For the more adventurous couple.

Phang Nga Bay, Thailand

Phang Nga Bay is romantic all year round! This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful destinations in the entire world. What makes February so spectacular here in Thailand is the fact that the weather during this month is at its best. Roughly 25-30 Celsius, and clear skies. Activities to do here range from sunset dinner cruises to snorkeling and beach volleyball!

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Vietnam has no shortage of romantic destinations as we travel to Ho Chi Minh City next. When it comes to colorful concrete jungles, Ho Chi Minh City ranks among the top. During the month of February you can expect the city to light up in an explosion of chocolates, hearts and roses. But what really makes Ho Chi Minh a great valentine destination is that it appeals to certain, high end, club-going couples. This city has become famous for its rooftop bars, restaurants and world class nightclubs.

Bagan, Myanmar

Myanmar isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about a romantic destination. But for couples who are particularly adventurous, or who love to discover new things together, then the most ultimate Valentine's Day trip would be to Bagan. This incredibly valley boasts over 2000 ancient Buddhist temples. To experience Bagan to the fullest, I recommend you stick around for dinner near a temple as you watch the sun dipping below the horizon and the glowing shear of centuries-old temples.

Beitou Hot Springs, Taiwan

Not known to many is the Beitou Theral Valley in Taiwan. It is a volcanic crater filled with steaming natural sulfuric hot spring water. The waters can reach a staggering 100 degrees Celsius, making them unsuitable for bathing, but couples can spend time in the numerous steam rooms, and bathhouses. Couples can relax in this out-of-the-ordinary Valentines Experience.
