DJ SNAKE

The alternative track Jet Black Star by 5 Seconds Of Summer got butchered by DJ Snake Featuring Bipolar Sunshine's Middle this week!

I knew this song was on the upswing and I was certain it would make it to Number 1 but how the hell did it outpace the relentless track by our pop punk mates from Down Under? After Alessia Cara, I was almost sure it would be the Aussie’s win!

The knock down with a feather happened last week when the 8-point leap placed Middle at Number 4 in the blink of an eye! This obviously said it all as indeed, the ingenious Grammy-nominated Parisian DJ and producer William Grigahcine reached the alp as predicted!

If you remember well, DJ Snake had an extraordinary eruption across the dancefloors when his 2013 platinum collabo Turn Down For What with Lil Jon tore down the clubs. It was followed by other mixes including his 2015 power-anthem with Major Lazer, Lean On. In spite of his small but meticulous library of songs, he built a reputation for being bizarrely anal-retentive about his releases, thus resulting into continuous viral hits.

The oracle of EDM has now released his first single to tease the public on his upcoming album after having scored three simultaneous hits on the Billboard Hot 100. And now, Middle lands on multiple charts as well. Kudos to the multi-awarded Frenchman for his breakthrough as a lead artist in dance club.

Alessia Cara rests at Number 2 after her short-reigned but powerful dynamo Here triumphed last week. As it exits the Weekly Top 20 chart we have other newbies approaching like the 8-pointer that’s threatening to take the lead. Against The Current sitting at Number 3, may perhaps be our next frontrunner with their single Outsiders, or at least, that’s what it’s categorically insinuating! The single from the first EP is coming in like a hurricane so watch out for it! Incidentally, Flo Rida too, now at Number 8, has also been our main mover this week with My House so do stay on the lookout for this one as well.

Jet Black Heart by 5 Seconds Of Summer also plunged southbound to Number 4 regardless of the great hoof marks it treaded last week since it veered from mainstream pop, nonetheless, it petered out of Number 2. However, here’s another first-hand by Zara LarrsonLush Life is up 5 after a gradual climb on our chart. Listen in on this moombahton electropop single by the Swedish singer - it’s a cool uplifting tropical track!

Surprisingly, our nose-diver of the week is The Feeling by Justin Bieber Featuring Halsey – amazingly down 7 to Number 15! And as for an additional possible zoomer from our sexy celeb Selena Gomez who made it into WT20 with Hands To Myself this week, here’s a chance for her to prove herself again this time with Charlie Puth in their collabo We Don’t Talk Anymore.
