WT20 ariana grande

As we do every week, let us rundown the charting songs of the Weekly Top 20. Let us highlight the songs in the soundtrack of your summer!

In 1988, a beautiful confusing voice on the radio played an acoustic ditty that had everybody asking a friend if they knew the title of the catchy song they heard. 28 years later, somebody covered their favorite 80’s track and added electronic beats and made it an emotional dance floor anthem. London based producer Jonas Blue and her vocal talent for the song Fast Car is currently peaking at number 2 at Y101’s Weekly Top 20.

Moving from 3-2, Jonas Blue’s Fast Car is having a slow time grabbing the number one position which is still held by pop diva and vocal queen Ariana Grande and her current single Dangerous Woman. Lukas Graham who held a brief time in the number spot with their song 7 Years has bumped down to 3.

Also joining the top 5 this week are surprisingly quick risen tracks. Flume, (who is expected to release his sophomore album next week) has climbed from 10-5 with his song Never Be Like You which is given life by the vocal talents of Canadian singer Kai. Twent One Pilots released their fifth and latest single off their album Blurryface. The track Ride is currently sitting at 4 which is surprising considering they were at number 13 last week. Twenty One Pilots is one of the most exciting musicians to roam the charts right now.

Two songs dropped off the WT20 this week. Shawn Hook’s Sound of Your Heart is gone but it is replaced by Jason Derulo and his new single If It Ain’t Love which debuts at number 18 this week. A Chainsmokers song was also listed off the list but the American DJ duo were able to replace New York City with a new single. Don’t Let Me Down featuring Daya debuts at 19.
