As we do every week, let us rundown the charting songs of the Weekly Top 20. Listen to the new number one song that ran over the vocal pop diva Ariana Grande.

21-year old Fast Car driver Jonas Blue and his partner Dakota claimed the number one spot on this week’s Weekly Top 20 as former title holder Ariana Grande finished fifth, having been hit at the start of the race since last week.

Fast Car is a cover/remix of the classic 1988 radio hit by Tracy Chapman. Its Jonas Blue reincarnation sparked an interest in younger listeners to check out the old song. Another reincarnated older song in this week’s chart is You Don’t Own Me originally sung by Lesley Gore in 1963. The 19 year old Australian singer Grace and producer G-Eazy gave life back to the 60’s feminist tune by adding contemporary beats and rap. Their version finished seventh during this week’s race.

Finishing second this week is the partner team of Flume and Kai with their spacey future bass trap sound Never Be Like You. On third place is the team David Guetta and John Legend with Listen, an electro house ballad that moved right past the Lights by Bobby Green who came close on fourth place.

Disqualified in the race this week due to lack of audience interest, apparently, are team Nick Jonas/Tove Lo whose song Close flew right off the race. The all-girls team Fifth Harmony also derailed their wheels when they took their own advice and went home. Halsey’s Colors is also out. Replacing these three teams are the exciting pairing of Calvin Harris/Rihanna on their new roaring beast This is What You Came For which started this race at 17. The three team Drake, Kayla, and Wizkid plan to accelerate their song One Dance (13) and achieve the number one spot, while Justin Timberlake begins to take traction with his new jam Can’t Stop the Feeling (15) just behind them.

Tune in again next week for another race results of the Weekly Top 20 every Saturday, 10 am to 12 noon, here at Y101, the soundtrack of your summer.
