Last week, we had an implausible lineup of possible Number 1s nonetheless, as we forecasted, The Biebs took the feat with his chartbusting Sorry, while Adele’s earth-shattering Hello got subjugated!

But here’s the thing – though Adele’s first track from her kick-butt album 25 crashed down 4 slots, her second single, When We Were Young soared up 9 notches to Number 3 last week, attaining the Number 1 spot today! Isn’t that amazing? Considering she practically made a back-to-back triumph with her first two releases from the album, I would say it’s definitely hands-down for Adele this year!

The song, which was co-written with Tobias Jesso Jr., a Canadian musician from British Columbia, is a moderately slow tempo soul track that runs for 4 minutes and 51 seconds and is tagged at 72 BPMs. In an interview with Adele, she stated this as her favorite song in the album. Having sold over 150,000 digital copies in the United States alone, it is without a doubt a super sensation!

Going back to the results of this week’s countdown, Maroon 5’s Feelings which reached Number 2 last week crashed down to Number 4, disheartening many Lavigne fans when we (and I say we because I’m one of them) had high hopes that this would peak.

English singer and songwriter Ellie Goulding’s up there with Something In The Way You Move out of her new album Delirium which received positive reviews from critics. Also tailing the heavyweights is Lunchmoney Lewis Featuring Chloe Angelides this week with the track Whip It at Number 5.

In the meantime, we lost the prevalent Ariana Grande somewhere along the line with her lead single Focus from her third studio album Moonlight. Last week she dropped down to Number 3 and this week at Number 6, she’s off to pie in the sky – and I thought she could reign the WT20 countdown? Oh my…
