It’s that time of week when the scuffle among the stars takes place again!

Last Saturday on the Weekly Top 40, Elle King’s double shot at Number 1 Ex’s And Oh’s was nuked by One Direction’s Perfect, downgrading King to Number 2 and surpassing other contenders like Macklemore & Ryan LewisDowntown which actually seemed like it was going to make it to the peak when it jumped to Number 2 in no time.

While the English-Irish boy band’s promotional single Infinity rapidly made it in and speedily plummeted down the WT20 chart, Perfect, on the other hand, which is the second single from their fifth studio album Made In The A.M., incongruously followed with a big bang reaching the pike in a heartbeat! It debuted at Number 1 in Ireland and made waves in other countries like the UK, US and Australia. Released on October 16, 2015, it was an instant hit, analogous to many of their other tracks like their previous winner Drag Me Down released last July.

But then again, Adele is likewise cranking it with her latest single Hello at Number 3. The English singer and songwriter is back with a vengeance with the lead single from her third album, 25. In the US, the high-flier debuted the Billboard Hot 100 at Number 1 selling 1,112,000 digital copies within a week of its release. The piano ballad holds a record high of 20.4 million on-demand streams.

With two major players up there, which one of the bigwigs will it be on this week’s countdown? I say One Direction has another good week at the acme, then Adele will take on the highpoint for some time – what do you reckon?

Coming in strong too is Hey Everybody by the band from Down Under 5 Seconds Of Summer at Number 4 on the WT20 list, but as appealing as it may sound, I don’t see how it can prize fight the two leading lights just yet, so chances are that in spite of its 9 point leap, it’s going to stay stuck as a non-mover.

Nick JonasLevels dropped down 2 spots to Number 5 – a short lived triumph at second runner up, the electropop track didn’t get much breathing space with such big names to compete with.

Here’s something to look forward to: Little Mix’s Love Me Like You now standing at Number 9. Yet another thing to look out for is Ariana Grande as she debuts the WT20 countdown at Number 12 with the song Focus. Watch this one soar, I say!

I wonder what Mike Solo has to give us today as he unleashes the hottest hits in the islands on WT20 right here at Y101 Always First from 10 AM – 12 noon!
