Whether it be Hollywood, Mexico, Indonesia or whatever part of the world he’s in, Justin Bieber is always news!

Even here in Cebu, in the midst of our biggest and most popular festival honoring the Senyor Santo Niño, Bieber makes music history when his track Love Yourself takes a leap to Number 1 on our Weekly Top 20. Incredible as this may seem, Justin has remained a permanent wallpaper in our charts since the release of his first track from his 2015 studio album and seems to continue doing so, as I foresee another one of his new entries hauling ass at Number 17.

However, this is no curveball coming from the god-sent 21-year-old Canadian conqueror! In the United Kingdom, he is the first artist to hold title to all the top three slots in the UK singles with his first three tracks from his reincarnating studio album Purpose. What Do You Mean sits at Number 3 while Sorry hangs at Number 2 and Love Yourself holds the crown. Meanwhile, in the United States, The Biebs dethrones the illustrious, vogue queen Adele in replacing the ten-week-old phenomenon Hello with his song Sorry which has perpetually been parked as the first runner up!

But here’s what’s really hot! Rumor has it that he’s beginning to miss his on-and-off relationship with Selena Gomez, especially after seeing her sexy new video of the track she’ll be releasing on January 26 of this year, featuring an eye-catching stud in Hands To Myself. Bieber jokes “What is she trying to do to my heart right now? I’m just kidding. She loves me. I love her, too, always. Who’s this guy? He’s a joke! This guy’s a chump. Nah, I guess he’s pretty handsome actually – I can’t even lie,” as he talked on The Bert Show as quoted by People.

Sorry however is now at Number 4 in our charts and will continue to slide down as other new tracks like Sigala’s interpolation of the Jackson 5’s song ABC come in. Easy Love is looking very promising at Number 2 this week, up 3 spots from last week.

At Number 3, we have an amazing headway by the American Marvin Gaye-singer Charlie Puth who rocketed up 5 notches with a new one – One Call Away. Also out of his debut album Nine Track Mind, this second single released last August 20, 2015 is on a sharp climb.

While we had awesome results for some artists, we had upsets for others like One Direction that plummeted south 4 points when we were almost sure it would be awarded with a garland for the track History. Adele’s When We Were Young too, took a big nose-dive down to Number 5 after having been a champ for the past three weeks. And with the death of David Bowie and the release of his recent album Blackstar two days before his passing, her album 25 got knocked out from the top of the charts as well!

I guess this is it for this week’s recap on the tops of the Weekly Top 20 as its host, Mike Solo and producer of the radio show Mike O continue to serve us Cebu’s music guide. As for this Bootlegger, you’ll be hearing more from me, Martha T once again next week when I bring you the latest countdown buzz right here at Y101 Always First
