For a change, we see a newbie at Number 1 this week!

Finally, it's not the Biebs or Adele on top of the volatile WT20 charts!

On the contrary, Adele's been nose-diving since she was dethroned from Number 1 three weeks ago. She first dropped 4 spots to Number 5, then plunged another 6 slots behind to Number 11 and this week, she's our biggest loser as she plummets outbound another 8 veins placing her popular ballad When We Were Young at Number 19!

Justin Bieber's Love Yourself too, has finally collapsed and is down to Number 3 after its two week reign at the privileged spot and given way for a newbie to be the chief! At Number 1 today, we have DNCE with their debut single Cake By The Ocean released last September 18, 2015 from their first EP, SWAAY. It's not exactly my cup of tea, but the mere fact that it's not Bieber nor Adele up top already makes me, well... kinda accept the unconvincing, cheesy song!

To give you a bit of a background on this fresh American pop rock group that hooked up in 2015, it consists of four young lads namely Joe Jonas, Jack Lawless, Cole Whittle and JinJoo Lee. While Jonas and Lawless lived together and bonded, they came up with the idea of forming a band, recruiting Lee and after a long struggle to find a fourth, finally added Whittle. They acquired some popularity in various countries with their single and reached the Billboard Top 100 in a moderate position.

Now here's something I like: Coldplay's rocking it at Number 2 this week with a dance pop track Adventure Of A Lifetime after its dramatic climb last week. Released on November 6, 2015, I believe this lead single from their seventh studio album A Head Full Of Dreams will make it to the top. How can the English band Coldplay with frontman Chris Martin not, right? Although unanticipated coming from this rock band in particular, the disco style of the track was much acclaimed by critics. I myself am a rocker but hands down, this track's a winner!

Touch And Go by Ed Sheeran is sitting at Number 4 today, following a debauched ascent from the prior weeks on the chart. This English singer and songwriter is totally hitting up our countdown with this track from the special Wembley Edition of x. It was released only last November 13, 2015 and includes some bonus tracks and a DVD. With all this being said, Sheeran is racking up some votes as he's proving himself to be a fearless giant!

Meghan Trainor has made quite a leap herself with Better When I'm Dancing ranked at Number 5 this week. The song which was released on October 13, 2015 has had quite an appeal ever since. It's the first single from the soundtrack of the film The Peanuts Movie. Although it drifts from Trainor's usual music style to a tropical house feel, quite similar to a summery Caribbean beat, it is rather alluring so I can see it on the rise.

Amazingly, Charlie Puth's One Call Away and Sigala's Easy Love are taking an uncontrolled plunge as Cebu boots them out of the tops. I thought otherwise, given their preceding popular demand on air however in such an impulsive countdown, sometimes things do take radical turns.

As for the big one for the week, we have The Chainsmokers Featuring Rozes soaring up 7 notches to Number 8. And as for the tracks we have to bid adieu, they're Whip It by Lunchmoney Lewis Featuring Chloe Angelides and Love Me by The 1975, so adios it is!

And adios it is from me, Martha T as well as this is it for the Weekly Top 20 recap this week. Cheers to our host, Mike Solo and our producer Mike O for the awesome job in serving you Cebu's hottest music guide right here at Y101 Always First as they bring you the exciting countdown!
