It's a triple-shot for Twenty One Pilots this week as it stays atop the Rick Dees' countdown with Stressed Out...

Ohio alternative hip hop duo Twenty One Pilots's Stressed Out continues to rule the chart with Justin Bieber's Love Yourself still hanging on to second place, but there's been a change of guard at Number 3 with The Chainsmokers Featuring Rozes switching corners with The Weeknd. What this means is that the ingenious Canadian R&B singer of the number-one singles The Hills and Can't Feel My Face astoundingly never made it past third base with In The Night in spite of its sixteen week poise at the Billboard Hot 100 peaking at Number 12.

By the same token, although on a climb in Dees' countdown moving up a notch this week from Number 4, The Chainsmokers' Roses is also on its way down the Hot 100s after 19 weeks on the chart peaking at Number 6. This does not necessarily mean it won't make it to the alp in the Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 but chances are we'll be seeing other dynamos like Flo Rida's House (presently at Number 5) or Selena Gomez's Hands To Myself (this week at Number 8) start getting in the way.

Here's something that's explosive for example: Barbadian icon Rihanna is back with an epic track featuring Canadian rapper Drake and even though it's only been in the Billboard Hot 100s for 5 weeks, Work has already reigned at Number 1 for two weeks in a row. It is in effect, the hottest missile to hit us right now and is sitting at Number 16 waiting to make an attack in Rick's catalogue. The dancehall reggae-pop song which was only released last January 27 has already turned into a whirlwind in the music industry, so expect this one to make humungous leaps and bounds to get to Numero Uno in a jiffy!

We're continuing to see a great deal of movement in the exciting countdown with a wide-range of genres coming in. As I mentioned last week, Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 has taken a weighty spin from 2015's pop to 2016's diverse playlist with more of that urban, R&B and rock included in its music library.
