Last week’s repeat performance by Rock City featuring Adam Levine with their multi-awarded remix which btw, is officially titled Locked Away Again and features an additional verse by rapper Lil Wayne, was well received at Number 1 on the Rick Dee’s Weekly Top 40 countdown – or at least it was, here in the islands.

With a collabo between the songwriting and recording production duo Theron and Timothy Thomas (R. City) and Maroon 5’s heart-throbbing frontman Adam Levine, how can this captivating mixtape co-produced by Dr. Luke, not have made it to the pike one more time? And with a team that is perhaps one of the best, if not the best contributor to some of the most popular artists’ singles, this is certainly a merited Number 1!

Like I said last week, I’d vote this track in for another few weeks but with the Biebs coming in on overdrive, what more can I say?

The Weeknd’s The Hills moved up a notch to Number 2, which only tells me that if bad boy doesn’t filch the brow from Canadian singer Abel Makkonen Tesfaye (no wonder he had to come up with his stage name The Weeknd!), it has potentials to acquire that trophy this week. His PBR&B (or what is an emerging stylistic alternative to contemporary R&B) track is the second single from his second studio album Beauty Behind The Madness receiving awesome reviews as it triumphed to Number 1 in the Billboard Top 100 replacing its very own pop-oriented Earned It.

At Number 3 last week, we saw Selena Gomez continue her exit down the chart with her song Good For You and at Number 5, Demi Lovato’s Cool For The Summer doing the same exodus.

Now here’s the threat of the week – at Number 4 we have every female teeny-bopper’s tariq and high–profile superstar Justin Bieber with his all-the-rage, puffed-up, over-publicized track What Do You Mean? , which is seriously beginning to tick me off because I can’t seem to write any more about his oversized sex part! This tom felton just hasn’t stopped surpassing all charts and even if it’s time to put the lid on him, he’s simply the staple these days!

Coming in strong as well is Taylor Swift with Widest Dreams at Number 6. Does she have a chance to be another contender to the throne in the future?

Now, here’s what I think’s gonna happen: Justin will take the lead while Weeknd will continue at second best and Swifty will do a bit of damage as well, but until the Bieber-fever dies down, it’s going to be a stalemate for a bit. Then it’ll be an all-Canadian rumble although I totally believe The Hills will make it up there sooner or later.

Let’s see what happens in the next few weeks – truly action-packed countdowns coming our way as Rick takes us all the way to Number 1!
