When last week we predicted that Adele would blow away the charts for a second week in a row, we were absolutely correct! Now the question is, will Rolling in the Deep continue its roll for the third week on the leader-board?
Let’s take a good look at the scenario after last week’s results as the elite four contingents to Adele’s ace track come to blows for the cap at WT 20, all on an utmost uphill trend:
At No. 2, we have American Idol Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert with 4 minutes and 23 seconds of the popular ballad Aftermath up 2 slots from No. 4. Lambert says that the song “was written about finding the courage to be honest with yourself and the people who love you” and continues to exclaim “I hope this song inspires people to be who they truly want to be ... and dance!” With part of its proceeds going to The Trevor Project which is an organization fighting against suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth, it may be ranking for a good cause.
And Mike Posner Featuring Lil Wayne is now at No. 3, up 2 spots from No. 5 with Bow Chicka Wow Wow. A third single from Posner’s debut album 31 Minutes to Takeoff featuring a verse by rapper Wayne, the synthpop-electropop hip hop track is pretty much overheating after his performance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show last April 19!
Coming in exceptionally strong at No. 4 is New Boyz Featuring the Cataracs with Backseat. It’s up 2 spots from No. 6 and travelling at high velocity to climax! Hip hop duo’s second single from their album Too Cool to Care and is breaking speed limits with this already overly popular and appealing party/club track in the US.
And now here’s the bomb (or should we say bomber) – at No. 5 we have Justin Bieber Featuring Rascal Flatts with That Should Be Me (reminding us of that inconsequential No.1 hit from All-4-One way back in the 90s, I Swear), also up 2 from No. 7! 3 minutes and 51 seconds of a bridal jeprox tune from Mr. Enamor in persona who wasn’t quite impressed with the Philippines on his visit yet ironically, the Philippines was enamored by him!
Will Adele still rule after all these piggybacks?
Let’s hear it all on this week’s Weekly Top 40 when Bryan G brings us the countdown to the most anticipated music fashion list in Cebu. It’s on from 10 AM – midday right here on Y101 Always First! Get with the trend today!
